I certainly hope that this boycott call will not be followed by everyone. Regardless of who they sell their items to, these shops have been around for a very long time and have contributed a lot to the society. It would be a shame to see businesses go down merely because they are only standing up for what they believe in. Perhaps the general public who support this boycotting should keep in mind that there are still workers who have to feed their family by earning their wages, and putting such businesses in line will only cause trouble for them. Then again, I suppose no one cares any more about such things when they're fueled by their emotions.

It's a shame to return to Egypt and expect the treasure crypts to be preserved properly, only to see traces of raids around the area. I don't think Gringott's will be pleased that On the other hand, it is good to be home again. My family seemed quite pleased with the souvenirs I bought for them, and Wednesday insisted on seeing pictures that I had taken. Unfortunately, I didn't get enough opportunities to take them, since my schedule was rather full.

It is surprising to think that January is about to end, but nevertheless, I am glad that those who are close to me seems to be in the highest of spirits. Perhaps it will remain this way until February.

I had the opportunity to visit Aple Beach in Lisbon, Portugal before Christmastime, and managed to take a photograph of the beautiful scenery;

While strolling on the shore, I was reminded of a stanza in a poem by Poe's 'Dreamland', which, I believe, reflects the scenery perfectly.

By the lakes that thus outspread
Their lone waters, lone and dead,-
Their sad waters, sad and chilly
With the snows of the lolling lily,-
By the mountains- near the river
Murmuring lowly, murmuring ever,-
By the grey woods,- by the swamp
Where the toad and the newt encamp-
By the dismal tarns and pools
Where dwell the Ghouls,-
By each spot the most unholy-
In each nook most melancholy-
There the traveller meets aghast
Sheeted Memories of the Past-
Shrouded forms that start and sigh
As they pass the wanderer by-
White-robed forms of friends long given,
In agony, to the Earth- and Heaven.

There has been too much snow lately that I'm beginning to think that it would be wiser to stay indoors nowadays due to the cold. I know my sister has been complaining about possibly having the flu. Hopefully it would not ruin Christmas for her.

That being said, I'm relieved that all the shopping for presents is done. Picking up presents at the last minute requires too much time due to the long queues.
